2024 Quiet Corner Garden Club Scholarship
The 2024 Quiet Corner Garden Club Annual Scholarship is awarded to a local high school senior or current college student pursuing a major in an agriculture/ horticulture-related field of study such as: Agronomy, Botany, City Planning, Conservation, Environmental Studies, Floriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Land Management, Landscape Design, Plant Pathology, Aquaponics, Natural Resources and/or related subject. More than one scholarship may be awarded. The scholarship will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement, leadership qualities, community service, letter of recommendation and student essay. In addition to pursuing an environmental or horticulture related field of study, the applicant must also reside within the Quiet Corner Garden Club’s Northeastern Connecticut and Southcentral Massachusetts service area.
In addition to the completed application form, the applicant must provide the following:
- A personal statement essay addressing personal qualifications for the scholarship,
including career goals and commitment to the chosen field of study.
The statement should be no longer than one page, double-spaced. - One or more letters of recommendation (not from a family member).
Current College Students Need:
- A transcript copy (unofficial) from the college in which the applicant is
enrolled. - A current photograph of yourself.
High School Seniors Need:
A copy of an acceptance or provisional acceptance letter from the
college the applicant hopes to attend.A high school transcript copy (unofficial).
A current photograph of yourself
The application deadline is April 10, 2024. Only applications received on or before that deadline are considered. Applications will not be returned. Recipients will be notified by June 30, 2024.
